PREHISTORY

Prehistoric man roamed between the plains and mountains around Choranche 70,000 years ago. He installed his hunting camp sites and later on his sheep pens at the entrance to the Caves that open at the foot of the cliffs in the Choranche cirque.
Traces of man and nature life left in the layers of sediment tell their story, and traces of human occupation around Choranche stretch from the Middle Paleolithic Era (70,000 years ago) to medieval times.
An exhibition awaits you at the entrance to the Cave, containing mostly artefacts found on the spot.
